Today is June 23, my 35th anniversary!!! This whole week I am going to give you little stories about our lives together; it has been an adventure, to say the least. By the way, Hypie has a neat tribute to us on his website, The Hyperion Institute. Go check it out; he put a lot of time into it. What a great tribute, to have kids who love and respect the fact that their parents have stayed married! Even among people my age, 35 is a big accomplishment. I play in retirement homes for the elderly, and most of them have been married upwards of 50 years, so no big deal. But for anyone 50 and younger, 35 years together is a record.

Speaking of retirement homes, Saturday I played in a place called The Gardens. Lovely place for assisted living, some in wheel chairs, a lot of them just as sharp as can be. After our hour together, several came around and thanked me. One precious lady peered up in my face and said "I wish you could play here every day." I thanked her, then she said hopefully, "Maybe you'll be in here soon, and then you can play for us all the time!"

Sounded like jail..."maybe you'll be in here soon." Bless her heart. When I asked them to guess what anniversary it was for me, they said 25, then 30. So, hopefully, I don't look old enough to be married for 35 years! And Byng, don't write me back how old I really look!
